The finely sanded Birch face features a subtle wood grain and requires no additional sanding before priming. Its firm surface minimizes flex and is especially well suited for acrylics, oils, egg tempera, caseins, encaustics, and other techniques that perform best on a stable support.
The Birch panel is supported by a sturdy medium-density fiberboard cradle designed to resist warping and reduce the chance of flexing or bowing. The smooth surface accepts universal acrylic primers, encaustic gesso, PVA, and traditional glue-based barrier coatings. Linen, canvas, and a variety of art papers can also be mounted directly to the panel. Once complete, your artwork can be displayed framed or unframed for a clean gallery presentation.
