Strong, Smooth Birch Wood Panels for Lasting Artwork

Da Vinci Pro Birch Wood Painting Panels provide artists with a strong, rigid surface for creating permanent works of art. Made with fine-grained Birch hardwood, each panel is carefully sanded to create an exceptionally smooth surface suitable for a wide range of techniques and media.

The Birch surface can be prepared with universal gesso, encaustic gesso, or a barrier coating of PVA or rabbit skin glue before oil priming. Artists can customize the preparation to suit their preferred medium and painting process.

These versatile panels also provide a sturdy base for mounting linen, cotton canvas, sanded pastel paper, or watercolor paper. A kiln-dried New Zealand Pine cradle adds strength while keeping the panel lightweight and resistant to warping. Unlike flexible canvas, the rigid surface will not sag over time.
