The finely sanded Birch face features a subtle wood grain and requires no additional sanding before priming. Its firm surface helps reduce flex, making it especially well suited for acrylics, oils, egg tempera, caseins, encaustics, and other techniques that benefit from a stable painting support.
The Birch panel is supported by a sturdy medium-density fiberboard cradle designed to resist warping and minimize the chance of flexing or bowing. The smooth surface accepts universal acrylic primers, encaustic gesso, PVA, and traditional glue-based barrier coatings. Linen, canvas, and virtually any art paper can also be mounted directly to the panel. Finished artwork can be displayed framed or unframed for a clean professional presentation.
