Masterpiece Vincent Pro Muir Acrylic Primed Belgian Linen for Archival Strength and Refined Texture

Masterpiece’s Vincent Pro Muir Acrylic Primed Belgian Linen Canvas delivers a professional-grade painting surface combined with expertly engineered construction. Stretched using Masterpiece’s MuseumWrap method with folded corners and clean back-stapling, this 7/8" deep canvas is tensioned using proprietary pneumatic machines—achieving up to 50% tighter stretch than traditional methods. The stretcher bars also feature 5/16" canvas clearance, reducing the risk of ghost impressions while maximizing structural strength.

The canvas itself is made from 100% Belgian linen with a 5 oz. base weight and a 12 oz. primed finish. It has a medium-textured, open-weave surface and is double-sized and double-primed with acid-free archival acrylic gesso. The primer is formulated with titanium dioxide, a superior pigment that offers lasting whiteness and flexibility, unlike zinc-based alternatives that can become brittle over time. The impenetrable ground prevents oil seepage, making it ideal for acrylics, oils, alkyds, and water-miscible oils—ensuring your work stands the test of time.
