The canvas itself is made from 100% Belgian linen with a 5 oz. base weight and a 12 oz. primed finish. It has a medium-textured, open-weave surface and is double-sized and double-primed with acid-free archival acrylic gesso. The primer is formulated with titanium dioxide, a superior pigment that offers lasting whiteness and flexibility, unlike zinc-based alternatives that can become brittle over time.
