The Masterpiece Vincent Monterey Acrylic Primed Cotton Canvas is designed for artists who demand a reliable, archival surface for their work. Made from 100% cotton with a 7 oz. base weight, this canvas features a medium, open weave and a medium-textured surface. It is double-primed with archival-quality acrylic gesso, resulting in a 10.5 oz. final weight per square yard—ideal for oils, acrylics, and alkyds.
Stretched using Masterpiece’s proprietary Museum Wrap method, the canvas is drum-tight and precision-balanced, offering up to 50% more tension than standard methods. With a 7/8" deep profile and 1/2" lip, it’s suitable for frameless display while keeping the paint surface clear of stretcher bar contact. Folded corners allow for re-stretching if needed, and keyable solid pine or fir stretcher bars provide excellent strength and warp resistance—crafted without finger joints for added durability. The primer and sizing are vegan and completely free of animal products.
