Masterpiece Monet Pro Monterey Canvas for Balanced Tension and Archival Painting

The Masterpiece Monet Pro Monterey Stretched Canvas is a professional-grade surface designed for artists who value durability, precision, and archival integrity. Made from 7 oz. cotton canvas with a medium weave and texture, it is double-primed with acid-free, archival-quality acrylic gesso. The primer, formulated with titanium dioxide, ensures a brilliant white ground with excellent flexibility—perfect for acrylics, oils, and alkyds.

Stretched over a 1-1/2" deep profile solid wood frame, this canvas uses Masterpiece’s MuseumWrap method for a drum-tight, balanced tension. The stretcher bars are sustainably harvested from the Pacific Northwest and include a 1/2" lip and 1/2" canvas clearance to prevent ghosting. Neatly folded corners allow for easy re-stretching, while key-able cross bracing on sizes 20"x20" and larger adds stability and support for larger works. This canvas is ideal for artists seeking a reliable surface for both frameless display and professional presentation.
