High-Gloss, Removable Varnish for Archival Protection and Color Depth

Liquitex Soluvar Gloss Varnish is a professional-grade, solvent-based final varnish designed to preserve and enhance acrylic and oil paintings. This removable varnish acts as a protective barrier, shielding artwork from dust, dirt, and harmful UV rays that can lead to fading or discoloration over time. Its high-gloss finish boosts color saturation and adds depth to the surface, creating a polished, gallery-ready appearance. Ideal for use as a final coat, Soluvar ensures your artwork maintains both its aesthetic impact and structural integrity.

This varnish can be applied by brush, roller, or spray, depending on the desired effect and surface area. It is removable using mineral spirits or turpentine, allowing for future cleaning or reapplication if needed. Soluvar should only be applied once the artwork is fully cured—72 hours to two weeks for acrylics, and six months to one year for oils. It can be thinned with traditional mineral spirits (not odorless versions) for easier application. A matte version is also available, but must be stirred thoroughly before use to evenly distribute the matting agents.
